Introduction that you will most likely skip over:
It has been my long standing goal to write atleast one piece of software that is useful to, and used by, normal humans. Now rather than just wait for That One Brilliant Idea to hit me out of the blue, I just start on a project I think has the potential, or is just something I need personally and am not very satisfied with the available options. Sometimes though I do something simply because it looks like an interesting thing to do. These are ofcourse contstrained by the resources at hand as well as my technical limitations (more so the latter than the former). No luck so far with creating anything that anyone else would want to stick into their computers, but thats not the point. Most of my past projects have died, sometimes because I no longer needed the features I was developing, sometimes they die once I prove that the problem has be solved and thus have no further interest in cooking up an interface, sometimes it turns out it will need more resources than I have or that it is way beyond my league. And some of them ofcourse just die out of laziness on my part.
